Somervell grabs gold at PH meet

Tess Somervell claimed a pair of golds at the 2024 Judy Thomas Invitational at Patrick Henry High School on April 8.

Somervell finished first in the 400-meter dash, turning in a time of 1:02.34. She was first, too, in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:41.89.

Mady Heath finished with a bronze in the 300-meter hurdles, turning in a time of 56.82. Kayman Atwell claimed fourth in the same race, finishing in 57.72.

Atwell was fourth, too, in the long jump, clearing a 14-foot, 11.5-inch span. Atwell finished 11^th in the 200-meter dash.

Audrey Gilley claimed fourth in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 1:06.38.

Diamond Miller finished 13^th in the 100-meter dash and 18^th in the 200-meter dash.

In the 100-meter dash, Jayda Miller finished in 27^th place and Kiera Dunford claimed 30^th. Dunford was 31^st in the long jump.

In the 800-meter run, Bella Payan finished in 10^th and Tori Blackwell took 14^th.

Allee Blevins finished 14^th in the shotput and Mattison McClure claimed the 18^th spot.

Bryson Kelly led the Chilhowie boys with a sixth-place finish in the 3200-meter run, turning in a time of 12:37.85. Kelly was eighth in the 1600-meter run, finishing in 5:38.02. Mason Adams claimed the 11^th spot in the 1600, with Nate Thomas clinching the 18^th.

Lucas Hubble took seventh in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:16.33. In eighth place, Mason Lee stopped the clock at 2:17.31. J.T. Moore was ninth, finishing in 2:21.10.

Jake Russell finished 16^th in the long jump and 13^th in the 200-meter dash. Connor Bogle was 28^th in the 200-meter dash and 34^th in the 100-meter dash. Colten Gentry finished 34^th in the 200 and 29^th in the 100. Marcos Silverio finished 20^th in the 100-meter dash.

Martin Widener took 19^th in the 400-meter dash. Nolan Blevins finished 22^nd in the same event, and Nate Thomas claimed 29^th.

Cian Ratcliff took 18^th in the 300-meter hurdles.
