Tate one to watch on E&H track team

The Emory & Henry College Women’s Indoor Track and Field Team has been picked to finish 11th in the South Atlantic Conference this year by the league’s head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Monday.

E&H will compete in its second year as a member of the South Atlantic Conference during the 2023-24 season as it continues the transition from NCAA Division III to Division II.

Defending SAC Champion Wingate University is picked to win the league with 11 of 13 first-place votes. Lenoir-Rhyne University is second with two first-place votes while Catawba College is third. Carson-Newman University rounds out the top four positions.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Athletes to Watch List with Wytheville’s McKenzie Tate making the list for the Wasps.

Emory & Henry will be in action this weekend (Dec. 8-9) when it makes the trip to Salem to compete in the Bast-Cregger Invitational hosted by former Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Roanoke College.
