Marion’s Langston’s jumps to first at track meet

Marion Senior High School’s Brooke Langston brought home gold in the long jump at the April 8 Judy Thomas Invitational held at Patrick Henry High School.

Langston leapt 16 feet, 0.75 inches to claim first. Langston finished fourth in the triple jump with a 32-foot, 2.5-inch effort.

Ruby Hoerter took third in the 3200-meter run, finishing in 12:51.82.

Ava Smith claimed sixth place in the 100-meter dash, turning in a time of 14.06. Smith was eighth in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 29.33.

Allyson Keen finished seventh in the shot put with a 26-foot, 8.25-inch toss.

Raegan Cox’s 14-foot, 8.5-inch leap earned her eighth in the long jump. Laken Foutz finished 14^th in the long jump and in the 100-meter dash. Foutz was 22^nd in the 200-meter dash. Mia Albertson took 24^th in the 100-meter dash and 25^th in the 200.

The Lady Canes’ 4×100-meter relay team notched a second-place finish, clocking in at 55.06.

Domenico Bruzzo-Morello and Jacob Mooney led the Marion boys with fifth-place finishes in the 3200-meter run and the shot put, respectively.

Bruzzo-Morello clocked in at 10:28.95 in the 3200. Mooney tossed for 40 feet, 8.5 inches in the shot put.

Tyler Pierce took seventh in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking in at 19.35. Pierce was 10^th in the 300-meter hurdles, finishing in 48.24. Daniel Lee claimed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 20.13.

Nick Sheffield took 12^th in the 400-meter dash and 35^th in the 200-meter dash. Daniel Lee claimed 14^th in the long jump for the Canes.

Ethan Whitt finished 16^th in the shot put. Miles Harrington finished 17^th in the 200-meter dash. Isaac George wrapped up 19^th in the 100-meter dash and in the 200-meter dash. Brayden Bowman finished 24^th in the long jump. Preston Harrington claimed 39^th in the 100-meter dash, and Andrew Owens earned 41^st in the same event.

The Marion boys 4×100-meter relay team took ninth with a time of 49.33.
