The Moose Lodge is a non-profit organization founded in 1888 in Louisville, Kentucky. It was initially established as a social club aimed at providing leisure activities and camaraderie for men. Over time, it evolved to become an organization that serves communities through philanthropic efforts.

Throughout the 1900s, the Moose Lodge expanded its membership base and established new lodges in various parts of the United States and Canada. The organization became involved with humanitarian efforts, including assisting during World War I and raising funds for medical research.

In the 1960s and 1970s, the Moose Lodge increased its focus on charitable activities and community service. This led to the creation of the Moose Charities, which provides support to children and seniors in need. Mooseheart, a community for children in need, was established in Illinois in 1913. The organization also supports Moosehaven, a retirement home for Moose members and their families.

Today, the Moose Lodge has over 1.4 million members and is active in more than 1,600 lodges in the United States and Canada. Its charitable efforts include sponsoring sports teams and events, supporting youth programs such as scouting, providing disaster relief, and providing scholarships for students. The Moose Lodge has contributed to numerous organizations and charities, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Overall, the Moose Lodge has grown from a social club for men to a philanthropic organization focused on serving communities. Its mission is to support those in need and make a positive impact on society.
