Bears compete at Patrick Henry meet

Bear runners competed April 8 at the 2024 Judy Thomas Invitational at Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring.

Kary Romano led the Bland contingent with a third place finish in the 1600-meter run, clocking in at 5:18.45. He took 14^th in the 800-meter run, stopping the watch at 2:28.28.

Chase Parker finished 15^th in the 800, posting a time of 2:28.90. Parker was 18^th in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.44. Parker was 13^th in the long jump thanks to a 17-foot, 10.5-inch leap.

Kendall Worley led the Bland girls finishing sixth in the 400-meter dash and ninth in the 100-meter dash. Worley finished the 400 in 1:10.09 and the 100 in 14.30.

Jocelyn Parks finished seventh in the 1600-meter run, posting a time of 6:27.67. In the 800-meter run, Parks clocked in at 3:03.14, good for ninth.

Jayla Morgan leapt for 12 feet, 2.5 inches, claiming 25^th in the long jump.
