Several George Wythe competitors secured gold at a March 27 track and field meet in Abingdon.
Haley Faulkner raced to first place in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 27.29. She took second in the 100-meter dash, posting a 13.18 finish. She also claimed silver in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 1:03.65.
Oscar Montgomery took first in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:11.80.
Brock Ayers claimed first in the discus throw, tossing for 128 feet, 9 inches. Ayers’ shot put of 40 feet, 1 inch earned him fourth.
The Maroon boys’ 4×800 relay team also finished first, clocking in at 9:50.76. the 4×100 relay team finished third with a time of 46.87. The 4×400 team finished in 4:08.69, good for fifth.
The GW girls relay teams finished third in the 4×100 with a time of 54.67 and third in the 4×400 with a time of 5:44.14.
Luke Clarke earned fourth in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 53.79.
Blake McBride finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.31. McBride was 15th in the 100-meter dash.
Brandon Pannell took fifth in the 1600-meter run, clocking in at 5:27.13. Pannell was 13th in the 800-meter run.
Fioiella Leon finished fifth in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Leon clocked in at 23.43 in the 100 and 1:01.78 in the 3000.
Brock Smelser finished sixth in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 11.83.
Holden Luttrell took sixth in the 110-meter hurdles, posting a time of 19.58. Luttrell was 11th in the 300-meter hurdles. Jeriah Cooper took eighth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.55. Cooper was 10th in the 110-meter hurdles.
Kyle Stephens was seventh in the shot put thanks to a 38-foot, 10-inch toss. Stephens finished 26th in the discus.
Keira Scott was eighth in the girls’ 100-meter dash, turning in a time of 13.69. Scott was ninth in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 29.28.
Zoe Childers finished ninth in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 1:10.44.
Ava Fowler was 12th in the 100-meter dash and 10th in the 200. Destiny Davis was 26th in the 1– and 20th in the 200-meter dash. Ava Ferguson finished 13th in the 200-meter dash. Ferguson was 10th in the long jump. Emma Stiltner finished 11th in the long jump and 16th in the 200-meter dash. In the 200, Catherine Paschal finished in 27th. She was 13th in the 400-meter dash.
Sam Kichline finished 27th in the 400-meter dash, and Conor Martin took 10th in the 3200-meter run. Trey Rainey wound up 37th in the 100-meter dash. In the 200-meter dash, Caleb Campbell finished in 10th, J’Mere Rivens took 14th and Kaden Irby claimed 27th.
Alex Murrell was 29th in the discus. Carson Stanley finished 36th in the discus and 26th in the shot put. Colten Gregory was 42nd in the discus. Austin Dawson was 19th in the shot put, and Aiden Hook finished in 34th in the same event.
