Holston sweeps player, coach of year honors

Senior Nick Delatos was picked as Hogoheegee Player of the Year and coach Jeff Austin was named Coach of the Year.

Delatos and Austin weren’t alone. Quaheim Brooks, Lane Blevins and Brycen Sheets joined the two with first team honors.

Chilhowie and Northwood each put two players on the first team list, including Northwood’s Eli Carter and Michael Frye and Chilhowie’s Josh Tuell and Dawson Walters. Ean Rhea of Patrick Henry was also named to the first team.

Northwood’s Chris Frye and Cole Rolen were named to the second team. D.J. Martin and Jonathan Phelps of Chilhowie also made the second team. Patrick Henry’s Isaac Presley and Jake Hall were named to the second team, too. Rural Retreat placed three on the second team: juniors Brady Smith and Chase Musser and sophomore Gatlin Hight.

Honorable mentions included Seth Debusk and Dyson Briggs of Northwood, Braxton Vannoy and Ethan Norris of Holston, Lucas Blevins and Ethan Puckett of Chilhowie, T.J. Pecina and Kade Gobble of Patrick Henry and Gavin Crowder and Jacob Alford of Rural Retreat.
