Pioneers compete at Judy Thomas Invitational

The Fort Chiswell boys 4×100 meter relay team raced to a third place finish at the Judy Thomas Invitational at Patrick Henry High School on April 8.

The Pioneers clocked in at 46.63.

Layton Kennedy led the individual Pioneer boys with a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Kennedy clocked in at 11.95.

Amarion Dickens secured seventh in the long jump, clearing 19 feet, 0.5 inches. Dickens was 14th in the 200-meter dash and 15th in the 100-meter dash.

Trey Tomlinson finished eighth in the long jump with an 18-foot, 8.75-inch leap.

Luke Viars also had a top 10 finish, claiming ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.28. Viars was 21st in the 200-meter dash.

Jackson Waller finished 15th in the triple jump, 16th in the 400-meter dash and 24th in the 800-meter run. Caleb Jones finished 25th in the shot put.

Kaylee Ward led the Lady Pioneers with a sixth-place finish in the shot put, tossing for 26 feet, 11.5 inches.

Aurora Haywood took 10th in the triple jump, clearing 29 feet, 10.75 inches. Haywood was 11th in the 100-meter dash.

Cora Stacy finished 14th in the 400-meter dash. Abigail Hillenberg claimed 20th in the 800-meter run, and Tristen Thomas finished 23rd in the 100-meter dash.

The Fort’s 4×100 meter relay team finished sixth, posting a time of 58.40.
