GW victorious in Gatlinburg

The Maroons have proved, yet again, to be the team to watch in the region, taking first place in the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic, beating Chattanooga Christian 74-66.

David Goode lit the nets on fire, scoring 28 points, 15 of them coming from beyond the arc. Reed Kirtner chipped in 19 points.

The GW boys opened up an eight point advantage in the second quarter and held on to make the win and a statement.

The day after Christmas, GW will be back on the hardwood in a high-visibility setting as they are the smallest, and possibly one of the youngest teams to play in the Arby’s Classic in Bristol.
