Tuesday at Chautauqua

Tasty times await at the Chautauqua Festival on Tuesday.

At 2 p.m., the Wytheville Library will host a recipe exchange at the Upper Shelter. The Library invites participants to bring a summertime dish and a copy of the recipe to share.

The day kicks off with Artisan of the Day Angeline Saferight Lloyd at 10 a.m.

Beyond’s Lloyd’s mixed media, theatre will be on full display throughout the day on Tuesday.

At 10 a.m., the Edith Bolling Wilson Museum will be sponsoring an interactive skit at the Upper Shelter titled The Funeral of Cary the Canary. All ages of aspiring actors will take part in the role-playing.

At noon in the Upper Shelter, Nicholas Landmesser and Lauren Smith will present music from all genres. Landmesser and Smith are both with the Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre.

On the Main Stage, Lisa’s School of Performing Arts kicks the night off with a 4:30 p.m. dance performance.

The Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre at 7:15 p.m. will showcase excerpts from its popular “Back to the ‘50s” show, inviting the audience to travel back in time to hear your favorite hits from when rock was young.

Closing out the night on the Main Stage, at 8:30 p.m. is clean, family friendly comedian Andy Forrester.

Performing since 1999, Forrester is known for his off-the-wall humor and has become a club favorite across the country. In 2008, Forrester was named the Ultimate Comic at the Idiot Box in Greensboro, North Carolina, and in 2013 won the Louisville satellite of the World Series of Comedy.

At 1 p.m., Wytheville Museums is sponsoring a fun way to learn about history, inviting all ages to the Rock House Museum to learn about the Battle of Wytheville, followed by a water balloon brawl.
