VDOT info meeting set for Abingdon, Marion

The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold two information meetings to review safety alternatives, congestion, and transit needs along Route 11 in Abingdon and Marion.

The Abingdon meeting will run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Coomes Center in Abingdon at 300 Stanley St.

A study survey for Abingdon is available Feb. 12-25 at the following link: https://publicinput.com/br-23-06alternatives.

The meeting in Marion will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Town Hall, 138 W. Main St.

This is the second round of public engagement for both studies, with the first study surveys held in summer 2023.

 This study is being conducted as part of the Project Pipeline program, which was created by the Commonwealth Transportation Board. Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia.
